Description
lightly fizzed Moscato D’Asti from the Vietti family who have been making wines in the Piedmont region for over 200 years, with its ripe fruity aromas and flavours. This is a fresh, flavourful and unique wine which can only come from the northwest of Italy.
TASTING NOTE: A bright golden straw colour in the glass. On the nose: A distinctively fruity, grapey aroma along with peaches and apricots, followed by some floral notes and fresh ginger. On the palate: Plenty of fruity sweetness yet is balanced and delicate across the palate with a medium body and mild acidity followed by an enticing fizz. The palate also brings more flavours of peaches, apricots and some ripe pineapple notes, which linger. 5% alcohol by volume.
FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: The Vietti family suggest pairing this wine with lobster and blue cheeses, or as this is a lighter style of sparkling wine it makes a great substitute for sweeter desserts or with fruit-based tarts, as has some sweetness. We would also suggest pairing this wine with fresh sashimi, sushi or paired with a traditional Pad Thai that has that little bit of chilli spice. It’s ready to drink now but will continue to drink well into the end of 2025.
ABOUT: Vietti is a family who has been making delicious Barolo, Barbera and other wines for almost 200 years, including this delicious Moscato d’Asti. Alongside distinctive white wines from the Arneis grape. They made the wine news a few years ago after they had sold the business and the vineyards to the Krause Family, an American entrepreneur and wine-loving family. It was seen as controversial at the time but in reality meant that Elena and Luca could continue to make even greater wine with outside help in terms of investment into the cellar, land and wines
