CURRENT SELECTION: Try a ripe, spicy Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile’s renowned Errazuriz estate from the Aconcagua area, a versatile food match for the winter and spring months. Then to Western Australia, for Moss Wood’s Amy’s blend which is medium to full-bodied, and a Bordeaux-style red with toasty oak, currant and plum characters. Next, enjoy Chateau Le Pey’s typical blend of classic grapes Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, creating a medium-bodied, subtly-oaked wine which is a great match for roast meats and cheeses. Also from France, we have Andre Colonge et Fils’ delicious Beaujolais Villages, full of juicy red berry fruits and mixed herbs. For a lighter, midweek red, we have Ca Rugate’s ‘Rio Albo’ Valpolicella from Veneto in Italy; its supple, light tannins pair beautifully with grilled chicken and hard cheeses. Lastly, Jasci’s Montepulciano D’Abruzzo, a wonderfully smooth red, with red fruit and warm vanilla/cinnamon notes; it goes down a treat with classic Italian dishes like pizza and gnocchi.
