CURRENT SELECTION: For the whites, try Joseph Drouhin’s succulent and juicy white burgundy, Macon Villages, a perfect match to any creamy, cheesy pasta dishes. Then, from Chilean producer Errazuriz, a lively and herbaceous Sauvignon Blanc that pairs beautifully with simple fish and vegetable dishes. Next try Monte Tondo’s refreshing Soave Classico from the beautiful hillsides of the Soave appellation near Verona. For the reds: From Languedoc in France, we have Altugnac’s elegant Pinot Noir, featuring beautifully balanced fruit and oak flavours that go perfectly with comforting, slow-cooked dishes like bean cassoulet. Then to Western Australia, Moss Wood’s Amy’s blend offers medium to full-bodied, Bordeaux-style fine red with toasty oak, currant and plum characters. Last but not least, the fresh and fragrant organic Malbec from Domaine Bousquet in Argentina shows wonderful aromas of dark berries, violets and fresh herbs, with a long finish, making this wine incredibly easy to drink.
