Description

This Trocken (dry) style of Riesling from the Juffer has precise acidity and plentiful fruity aromas of apple, lime and white peaches. The palate is dry with a herbaceous spice and a slight almost salty-mineral character. It’s medium to full-bodied and medium in alcohol at 13%. The finish is long, intense and fresh, and is capable of ageing for another 5-6 years at least. Enjoy now or until 2026. Decant when serving to soften the powerful structure of this wine. This wine pairs wonderfully with fresh seafood like scallops, oysters and prawns, as well as fresh asparagus and/or roasted brussels sprouts.

With a documented history dating back to 1605, Weingut Fritz Haag has been, for a long time, one of the top producers of German wines. This was thanks, particularly to Wilhelm Haag, who helped develop the Mosel Verband Deutscher Pradikats und Qualitatsweinguter (the association for high-quality German wine, thankfully abbreviated to VDP), putting the Fritz Haag winery on the map at the same time. As of 2005, the wines are produced by son Oliver Haag after his father Wilhelm handed the estate over.
