Description
Italy produces a dazzling selection of wines, this case shows a selection of some of the most delicious and classic styles available. Pieropan’s Soave Classico is a triumph of restrained winemaking, elegant fruit flavours are showcased here. La Giustiniana’s Gavi di Gavi has a delicate bouquet of ripe apples and is a refreshing wine that will be delicious alone or with a meal. Adami Prosecco Superiore is a high-quality example of this widely enjoyed wine from high up in the Unesco heritage site, the Valdobbiadene Hills. Intense and refreshing, a great sparkling wine. Chianti is the most well-known red wine of Italy, Rocca di Montagrossi makes their wine using grapes from the Classico area. This is a Chianti of great complexity, showing a heady mix of fruit and spice flavours this wine really shows what Chianti is capable of. Whilst Jasci’s Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is lighter wine in body and colour it is not light on flavour. Red fruit flavours and smoothness on the palate, this is an incredibly easy-drinking wine. The final wine in our case is from Piedmont, Pio Cesare’s Barbera d’Alba. The Barbera grape has become ever more popular. This increase in fortunes has come about as a result of more careful management of this vigorous variety, with producers now choosing quality over quantity. This can be seen in this delicious, balanced wine with plush, ripe, fruit flavours.
