Description

This famous Rose is made by Sacha Lichine and his team at Chateau d’Esclans, in La Motte en Provence, South France. It’s a blend of red grape varieties Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Carignan with the white grape Vermentino (known in the region as Rolle) too. A wine that not only looks good but tastes great as well!

TASTING NOTE: A beautiful pale pink colour. On the nose: floral hints and notes of fresh red fruits such as strawberry, cranberry, and raspberry. The palate is bright and refreshing with a light body and crisp and balanced acidity, with more flavours of red berries along with pink grapefruit citrus, and a long, lingering smooth finish. 13% alcohol by volume.

FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: A refreshing and delicious rose that’s great chilled on a summer afternoon or as a match with simple white fish dishes/sushi or fruit-based desserts such as strawberry Pavlova or Victoria Sponge. Drink now or keep summer 2025.

ABOUT: Whispering Angel is one of several Roses made by Sacha Lichine at Chateau d’Esclans, in Provence. It’s a delicious rose and has been commercially successful too (so much so that the vineyards and business were recently bought by Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey), meaning that the estate needs to supplement their crop with grapes from other estates in Provence. The name derives from the cherubs painted on the roof of their chapel, said to be whispering to each other.
