Description

Produced from vines planted on the eastern and western halves of the vineyard in Dry Creek Valley. This Lytton Springs Sonoma County from Ridge Vineyards is a blend of 72% Zinfandel, 15% Petite Sirah, 9% Carignan and 2% Alicante Bouschet. Rich and elegant, from one of California’s top producers.

TASTING NOTE: Attractive purple/red colour. On the nose: It’s elegant and fragrant with plenty of cherry and blackberry notes, and a hint of vanilla and spice too. On the palate: It’s medium in body with fine-grained, firm tannins that are the key to this wine’s longevity. Big on flavour with more plush red and black fruit, spice and vanilla. 14.5% alcohol by volume.

FOOD PAIRING, STORING AND SERVICE: This is a firm, and elegant wine that will match with grilled lamb chops, with potatoes, or any grilled red meat, or mushroom. We would recommend decanting it for a few hours before enjoying.

ABOUT: Ridge Vineyards based in the Santa Cruz mountains (South of San Fransisco) was established in 1962. Paul Draper took up the role of winemaker in 1969 and is still involved in making wines at the winery to this day. They champion sustainable farming and winery practices. Ridge, like other California estates, received almost instant praise in the world of wine after California performed so well in the 1976 Judgement of Paris tasting – beating some of France’s most revered wines.
